Fetch the Popcorn!

Hello fellow shopaholics & tis' the season of spooky movie marathons!

Every movie marathon needs a good throw back, a chiller, & something cheesy to end the night to ease the spooky vibes in the air. I'm no movie critic, but below are my suggestions. So, grab your popcorn, blanket, boo or friend, & bucket of Halloween candy & let the marathon begin!

After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani & their new friend, Allison. After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches' book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal. Hocus Pocus is a timeless classic, a nostalgic moment, & a great kickoff to a Halloween movie marathon.

After Barbara & Adam Maitland die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes & teen daughter Lydia buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice, a rambunctious spirit whose "help" quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia. Test your luck at calling upon his spirit by saying Beetlejuice three times. Just make sure there's enough popcorn to share if he decides to show up!

Released early this October, The Haunting of Bly Manor has become a hit on Netflix. Its sister show that came out last year, The Haunting of Hill House, no doubt had fans excited for what the creators would come out with next. The Haunting of Bly Manor is about a property haunted by several ghosts trapped within a demonic entity's energy tying them to the property. The show has all the thrills of a spooky movie & an enticing story line that will be sure to have you clicking "next episode" wondering what will come next.

Another show that has the key components of a horror movie but the features of a TV show, American Horror Story is guaranteed to have you spooked. There are currently 10 seasons of the show on Netflix so it is definitely Halloween marathon material. Each season offers a different plot that revolves around something chilling. My favorite season of AHS would have to be Asylum. The actors/actresses do a incredible job throughout the season & I guarantee the episodes will haunt you for a couple days after.

Who ya gunna call after watching all these scary movies and you can't get to sleep? GHOSTBUSTERS! University parapsychologists lose a research grant when their experiment methodology is proven to be bogus. The team decides to go into business for themselves & open ‘Ghostbusters,’ a ghost removal service. After struggling to get on their feet, they are summoned to investigate the strange happenings in Dana Barrett’s Central Park West apartment. What they discover is that all Manhattan is being besieged by ghosts & other worldly demons through a portal in her building. Ghostbusters is another classic & will ease the spooky jitters so you can fall asleep without being worried of what may be lurking in your closet.

Hopefully you all enjoy these suggestions & will give a few of them a shot in your movie lineup. Stay safe this Halloween & don't forget to take advantage of half priced candy on November 1st! What are some of your favorite Halloween movies to watch? What about some of your favorite movie marathon snacks?

Till next time,

Baeh :-)
