If you've read my blog for any length of time, you'll know that I am quite the oil slick. This just means that I simply can't get away with wearing eyeshadow without a primer. The shadow will crease within 30-60 minutes, depending on how hot it is, and I will be sad and so back to just using eyeliner because eyeshadow hates me!

When I discovered eyeshadow primers, it was like the second coming! For years, I stuck with The Balm's Put a Lit on It, but on a whim, I went ahead and picked up Nars' Pro-Prime after hearing all the hype about it being "the best primer ever".

I truly was not expecting to like this at all, but the first time I used it, I was hooked and sold. Best. Primer. EVER!

It comes with a little doe-foot applicator, and while the product is white upon application, it dries completely clear so it won't interfere with your eye makeup.

You don't need a lot of it because it spreads out rather well.

This stuff is miraculous, but be warned that it's so good at keeping your shadow in place it takes a touch more effort to blend out your eyeshadow. It's a sticky formula, so if you don't own a good blending brush, use a colour base in terms of a cream shadow, or just put a single wash of colour down first.

Of course, a picture is worth a thousand words, so let's take a look at the before and after!

That's right! More than 12 hours later, and there is just minimal creasing of my eyeshadow. As you can see, the rest of my face did not fare as well (the horror show of melting makeup), but the eyeshadow is still going strong!

I absolutely love this stuff, and I'm positively never going back to another eyeshadow primer again!
