Bath & Body Works Sale: A Guide to What You Need + Giveaway!

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that the last week has been Bath & Body Works mania on all fronts! Little do you know, however, that my house is basically a mini Bath & Body Works because I've been hoarding behind your backs!

This is going to be a bit of a quick post because the sale ends tomorrow. These are some items I own and what you really should pick up because the deals are too good to be missed. Full reviews will be up at a later date, but go forth and shop now!

In case you haven't been informed, if you buy 6 items, you get an additional 10% off, and if you buy 8 items, you get an additional 15% off. This includes already discounted merchandise, as well are those that are not on promotion.

I'm going to kick off with a product that isn't available in Malaysia (yet, hopefully), and it's one of my favourite candles from BBW. It sits in its own little jacket (also from BBW - currently on sale) on my desk where it's lit to inspire inspiration for my posts!

[What's Under the Jacket?]

[London Calling Three-Wick Candle - Tea & lemon]

Everyone knows I'm addicted to all things caffeine, but I have a special affinity for tea. While I don't actually like drinking lemon tea, this candle is absolutely wonderful. It also holds a special place in my heart because the lovely Samia got it for me all the way from Dubai before BBW opened up here.

[Look How Pretty!]

Even the lid on this candle is gorgeous!

Next up, a candle which was newly acquired during the sale for RM26.50, at 75% off. Unfortunately most of the candles have been snapped up, but it's still worth hunting for!

[Black Teakwood Three-Wick Candle - Smells like a man!]

This candle sits on my bedside table because it's a little more masculine and perfect for the bedroom (end of details).

If you're wondering why I don't have a jacket for this, it's because the glass is so thick it acts as a holder on its own. It won't damage the surface its on so you don't need to put anything under it if you don't want to.

I also picked up a candle for my living room during the sale that I haven't burned yet. RM26.50 too!

[Rainforest Gardenia Three-Wick Candle - Fresh & lightly floral]

While I'm not a fan of food scents in my home, I simply couldn't resist picking up Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut at 75% off. I utterly love the scent of cinnamon, and I need doughnuts in my life at all times. It also makes me happy that "doughnut" is correctly spelt!

[Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut Three-Wick Candle - Smells good enough to eat!]

This is part of their White Barn Market collection of confectionery scented candles that are amazing!

[White Barn Market - For the foodies!]

As I said, I'll be doing in-depth reviews later on, but this is just a bit of a head's up.

That can't be all by way of candles, can it? No!

[In the Bathroom: Japanese Cherry Blossom Mini Candle and Warm Vanilla Sugar Hand Cream]

Both of these were also gifts from Samia and they're two of BBW's signature scents as well. Warm Vanilla Sugar is a favourite in the States, and while I don't love vanilla scents on the whole, this is far from too sickly-sweet and I leave it on my bathroom counter to use after washing my hands, since I tend to do so around 60 times a day.

Japanese Cherry Blossom is also a much sought-after scent, and I can tell you first-hand that it is something you need in your collection. Unfortunately, it isn't on sale, but you could pick up 6 or 8 items, and get a pretty good deal on it!

[More BBW on the Counter]

Quite frankly, there is nothing in this world I love more than hand soaps, and BBW takes the cake on this one! They carry 2 different types of hand soaps: Gentle Foaming and Deep Cleansing. My preference runs towards the Deep Cleansing variety because it has tiny exfoliating beads which aren't too abrasive in them. All the hand soaps you see below are of the Deep Cleansing range, but each scent comes in Gentle Foaming as well.

[Used Up: Caribbean Escape and Amazon Orchid]

Both these scents are lovely! I'm not sure if Caribbean Escape is a permanent item, but I do know that Amazon Orchid is from the last collection they launched and is currently going at 50% off (RM16).

What I'm currently using is also from the last collection:

[Wild Mango Mojito]

Oh, I do love this one! It's also going at 50% off (RM16), so I urge you to pick it up!

Of course, the kitchen needs some good soap too! They do have a dedicated scent called Kitchen Lemon, but it smells too astringent to me so I'm not a fan of it.

These are the items I've used up in the kitchen.

[Peach Bellini and Sweet Tangerine]

I know Peach Bellini is in their regular line, and I think Sweet Tangerine is too, but I'm not sure. I certainly hope it is because both of these are to die for! I truly can't pick which I prefer and although they aren't discounted at 50% off, you can still get 2 for RM50, plus the additional discount as stated above.

Currently in use in my kitchen is a bottle from their latest collection:

[Sun Shine & Lemons]

As I mentioned, I'm not a fan of the Kitchen Lemon scent, and I much prefer this! It's so nice and fresh and make me so happy!

Of course, because I'm a hoarder, I have extra bottles of hand soap lying in my drawer. I am all set for the zombie apocalypse! I will kill them with hygiene!

First up, from the last collection, I still have one of the scents remaining. Mind you, this collection will be out of stores soon, as soon as it's all sold out, so pick them up NOW at 50% off!

[Rio Samba Sunset]

And from their new collection, which I got at 2 for RM50:

[Spring Time & Clementines, Water Lily & Lime and Blue Skies & Blossoms]

All lovely!

And something I hadn't noticed prior to the sale, which I assume came out with their Moroccan collection:

[Moroccan Fig & Honey]

The Fig & Honey scent was also going for RM16, so if you see it, get it! It's divine! I'm saving it for when I run out of what's in my bedroom. Just like this the next hand soap, which is of the non-deep cleansing variety:

[Sleep Sommeil - Lavender & vanilla]

This is part of their calming range, and I believe it was on sale at 50% off too, though I may be mistaken. This is part of their relaxation range, and the first thing I bought from BBW when they opened up here was from the collection too.

[Sleep Sommeil Bath Salts]

These aren't on super promotion, but they are truly divine! If you have a bathtub, you need these in your life!

Next up, let's talk hand sanitiser. I believe only Twilight Woods is on sale for RM6, but if you see any others available for that price, buy them all!

These are the PocketBacs I've already used up:

[Twilight Woods and Island Margarita]

Last month they had a sale where they were 5 for RM35, so I stocked up! This is what I'm currently using:

[Rainforest Breeze]

Of course, I have to have extras, right?

[Lavender, Blue Skies & Blooms, Springtime & Clementine]

Lavender is part of their regular range if I'm not wrong, but the other two came out with the latest collection.

One would think that it would end here, but one would be wrong. Why? Because, wallflowers!

The awesome thing about Bath & Body Works is that the truly sort your home out. They have wall plug-ins which leave your home smelling wonderful all the time. A number of scents are on sale for RM8, so you really need to stock up! The plug-in itself is around RM25 if I recall correctly.

In any event, they're having a bit of a sale where 4 wallflowers are RM100 for those that aren't on super sale.

[Plug-In Baby!]

I have a plug-in for my living room, bedroom and my makeup room, so I go through 3 of these a month. I really can't remember the scents I've used up because they're not printed on the bulbs. I do wish they would find a way to do this! The cool thing about these is that once there's no liquid left, you could pop it in your cupboard and the scent still lingers so your clothes smell divine!

At RM8, I couldn't resist stocking up!

[Amazon Falls, Island Margarita, Lilac Blossom, Brazilian Blue Waters, Relax, Peach Bellini and Island Water]

BBW also do scents, and I have a lovely bottle, also from my darling Samia:

[Paris Amour Body Mist]

A number of mists and lotions are also on 50% off so raid your nearest BBW!

Last but not least, to make it up to Pinata for buying out BBW over the last month and a half, I bought him something. Yes, just one item because I am a terrible wife!

[Paris 2-in-1 Body and Hair Wash]

They carry an entire range for men as well and this was on sale for RM15.50 (75% off). Don't tell him that!

What's really stressful is that among all the sale items, you're going to see this big, bright yellow display that's just calling to be sniffed! Their latest collection, Love & Sunshine, is out in stores and be warned that you are going to want it all!

[Love & Sunshine - Now in stores!]

The additional 10% and 15% discounts are applicable to the new collection as well, so go for it!

[Love & Sunshine Goodies]

A review of the collection will be up soon, so stay tuned!

And now, a little something for those of you who are sorely devoid of BBW in your lives! I've got a small little giveaway for you!

[Wild Mango Mojito Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Love & Sunshine Body Lotion and Twilight Woods PocketBac]

You'll be getting this in BBW's special pretty bag. Here are the rules:

Leave a comment with the following:
1) What is your favourite BBW product?
2) What product are you dying to get your hands on?
3) How many outlets does BBW have in the Klang Valley?
4) Name and email address.

Contest ends on Sunday (5th July, 2015) at 11:59pm, so good luck!
Beauty Day Out with Beauty Guide: Mandara Spa, WIP, Apronbay (Part 2)

If you'd like to explore our journey up to this point, please read Part 1.

Here we were in Mandara Spa, in the middle of all that green, our minds already soothed.

There is a balcony attached to the main area of the Spa which is ideal for taking in the breathtaking surroundings.

[One with Nature]

Or for taking selfies...depending on whether you'd rather be one with your phone or nature.

[With Tammy. We Made Our Choice a Long Time Ago!]

While Mandara Spa is best known for their traditional Balinese Massage, they do offer a range of services, including facials. This is particularly exciting because the range of skincare they employ is one which is impossible to find in this region.

[Elemis: Coveted!]

Since Sabby is pregnant, she was unable to partake of the massage, so she got a facial instead! Head over to her blog to check out how it went.

Elemis has had nothing but rave reviews, and I'm all too happy that Mandara Spa actually sells the products. Once I've made a bit of a dent in my skincare range, I will be going back to purchase some of these goodies. However, the tale of why I am no longer allowed to buy skincare is one for another time. Yes, my face is sad!

But, I digress.

Back to the Spa! Just thinking about it soothes my soul a little because I can almost smell the divine essential oils which permeates the entire Spa.

[Heated Essential Oil for Aromatherapy]

We were treated to a bit of lemongrass tea before our treatments were due to begin, and the tea service was absolutely covet-worthy! I'm already plotting to get one just like it, down to the tray!

[I Need This in My Life!]

As this is a full-service spa, you have the option of adding a scrub to your massage as well. They have a range of exfoliants for you to choose from.

[Exfoliants: Coconut, Coffee, Lulur, etc.]

We weren't getting scrubbed, so we got to choose our massage oil instead. As with the exfoliants, each oil has a specific purpose, which was explained to us in-depth.

[Oils: Mandara Oil, Island Spice Oil, Harmony Oil, Tranquility Oil]

[Explaining the Differences Between the Oils]

We were told which skin type was suited to which oil, and how it would make us feel.

We were given a drop of each oil on our skin to sample to scents.

[Good Thing My Arm was Waxed!]

I chose their bespoke Mandara Oil, and off I was taken into the magical wonderland of the Balinese Massage!

[Down  the Rabbit Hole]

[I'm a Lily!]

As with the rest of the Spa, the room was decked out in a lot of wood. Unfortunately, due to the moisture of the surroundings, there was a bit of a musty smell to it all, but nothing that really affected the whole process.

[Where the Magic Happens]

There's even a corner for you to have a seat and relax, should you choose to.

[Relaxation 101]

[More Elemis!]

I found it a particularly nice touch that there was a little wooden box placed on the bed so that you could pop your accessories and valuables into it to get them out of the way.

[Convenience]

The massage itself is everything I had hoped it would be. It left me feeling soothed and drowsy but somehow revived at the same time. All my muscles were relaxed, and the knots in my shoulders were expertly teased away. All this was done with very gentle pressure, too! I would definitely pop by for another massage, but perhaps at a different outlet.

The main issue I had was that the noises from the theme park were extremely audible from the room so it was hard to fully relax. Other than that, it was a fantastic experience!

[Picture Time with Grace and Therese!]

I'm sure anyone who has been for a massage knows what comes next: FOOD!

We were all famished by this point, and got into those lovely Uber Black cars and headed back to Bangsar where we were tucked into a special corner of WIP (Now: Whipped into Place).

.

[Hungry Faces!]

What was so special about W.I.P. was not that their food never disappoints, it's that we got to sample dishes from their upcoming post-Raya menu!

First, however, hydration and caffeine...or cocktails.

[Iced Coffee]

I noticed pandan-infused coffee on the menu, and I simply had to give it a shot!

[Pandan Coffee]

It was definitely a very interesting flavour, but I think it would have been better had the milk been steamed with pandan leaves, as opposed to using a syrup (which I assume they did). 10 points for experimentation?

[Orange Juice]

Of course, W.I.P. is, and has always been, known for their mojitos of every variant.

[Carolyn with Her Happy Juice]

[The Famous Mojito]

With our thirst satiated, we were treated to a smorgasbord of food! Let's kick off with the brand new appetizers which are set to hit the menu after Raya!

[HERE'S THE FOOD!]

So, what do we have here?

[Bacalhaus De Abras: Creamy Portugese salt cod fish with sweet potato chips]

I've been on a bit of a sweet potato kick of late, so this was right up my alley! The fish wasn't too fish-y, and it paired perfectly with the chips. All creamy and delicious, with a bit of a bite!

[Greek Berry Salad: Berry trio, red radish, olives, crispy romaine, feta cheese, honey lemon vinaigrette]

I kid you not when I tell you that this is something else altogether. Let's just say I went back to W.I.P recently, hoping it had already been snuck onto the menu, to no avail. Absolutely amazing! It even popped a liking for radish onto my tastebuds!

[School Prawn: Crispy prawn, chili mayo and lemon]

A nice departure from calamari, this was an absolute hit at the table! They weren't too greasy, and went delectably with the chili mayo.

Then, out came the mains and we were all thoroughly distracted from the appetizers! First off, one of their star dishes: Espatada!

[Chicken Espatada]

[Chicken Breast and Thigh Chunks Marinated with Jerk Spices]

The chicken was perfection! Juicy, tender, slightly charred on the outside to caramelize the spices! You cannot go wrong ordering this, but you would be remiss if you chose this over the beef!

[Beef Espatada]

[Sirloin Chunks Marinated with Garlic and Traditional Herbs]

I'm not sure what these traditional herbs are, but I need some in my life!

And when they sliced it up for us...

[Throw the Mona Lisa away, this is the true work of art!]

The meat is so tender and flavourful that it melts in your mouth. It's spiced to perfect and for the price, you simply won't get a better steak elsewhere. Truly, TRULY worth every penny!

The Espatada dishes come with sides as well that perfectly balance and complement them.

[Espatada Sides: Grilled Vegetables and Couscous]

[Couscous]

[Grilled Vegetables]

And some sauces, which are truly wholly unnecessary because the meat is so well marinated!

[Sauces to Complement the Espatada]

As we were being spoiled rotten, the food kept coming, and we kept tucking in!

[Triple Trio Supreme: Chicken sausage, chicken ham, grilled chicken, onion rings, cocktail onions, onion marmalade, mozzarella, cheddar and emmenthal cheese]

The pizza at W.I.P. isn't the best in town, but it's definitely decent. I much prefer it to Domino's, if that is your benchmark for pizza. They use proper, unprocessed meat and cheeseson this and it's full of flavour. Coupled with the light, crispy base, you have the recipe for success.

This ran into a bit of an Asian addition, which is always welcome

[XO Fried Rice: Supreme dried seafood, carb meat, kale, mango sauce and crispy fish skewer]

W.I.P. has surprisingly good Asian food, and this had its moments. I am not overly fond of dried fish, so the flavour was a little overpowering for me, but I still tucked into quite a bit of it because it was delicious.

However, the stars of the dish were actually the accompaniments. Their fish satay and mango sauce were out of this world, and I was hooked!

I genuinely hope they start serving the fish satay on its own. Wouldn't hurt to accompany it with the mango sauce too! Just saying...

A meal can't end without dessert, right? If you disagree, you are wrong!

[Tiramisu]

[Rocky Road Brownie with Haagen Dazs Ice-Cream]

Unfortunately, I had to skip out on the dessert courses, but I only heard fantastic things about both these dishes. Just look at them! How can you resist?!

While this would have been a sweet finish, there was one last stop on our little beauty tour.

What's a pampering session without getting your nails done? Incomplete, that's what!

And so, off to Apronbay!

Apronbay, too, offers a range of services such as threading, waxing, lash tinting and curling, and, of course, manis and pedis!

The environment truly makes you feel like you're in a bit of a genie bottle, so it would be the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

[Mamasan Finally Getting Whisked off Her Feet!]

As mentioned, this felt like a very special bonding session, where we were all taken to prime locations to treat every inch of ourselves. It would be perfect for a girl's day out, and that's exactly what it was.

Everyone was all smiles, relaxed and happy. Beauty Guide, it truly was because it led me to unexpected places which I will return to time and time again!
