Matrix is under L'Oreal's umbrella (as almost everything is there days), but it's a range I hadn't explored until earlier this year.
At RM48, this was already reasonable for a bottle that contained half a litre of product, but I got it at 50% off on it at the OHP Naturals store in 1 Mont Kiara which made me a very happy shopper!

It was also a rather lovely experience to excounted sales staff who were actually useful for a change, and as I was new to the line, the lady assisting me gave me some suggestions on what would work for my hair type. She asked me a few rudimentary questions and then told me that because I have an oily scalp, I should avoid cream products and roll with scalp shampoos instead.
This range is as a clean as it gets with L'Oreals hair care, and I was rather excited to try it out.
The first thing that hits you is the scent of mint. It's fresh and cooling and perks you up instantly. I've never really been a fan of minty scents, and it took a while for me to get accustomed to this, but if you enjoy that sort of thing, you will definitely love this shampoo.
Scent aside, I love this shampoo! Well, loved since it's all gone now. When it touches your scalp, it has a lovely, refreshing and cooling sensation which feels like heaven in this inclement weather. It definitely left my scalp feeling less greasy and bogged down, and it helped with the itchiness and flaking (TMI, I know) I get from time to time.
The shampoo lathers up very nicely, and it's meant to be safe for colour-treated hair which most scalp shampoos aren't because they're so cleansing. I liked this so much that it was the first shampoo I used without switching up in the middle. Honestly, it's the first time in my life I was dedicated to a single shampoo till the last drop. I will definitely be going back to this once my shampoo stash dwindles. I'm trying out other scalp shampoos at the moment as well, and although Aveda's is excellent, I do think this is worth a go at a fraction of the price. Aveda's doesn't do enough wonders for me to pick it up again unless it's at a severely discounted price!
