Everyone waxes lyrical about scented body washes, but those aren't really my thing. I'm more a fan of deeply nourishing body washes, which actually do good things for your skin. Plus, I hate overpowering fragrances, and find them entirely unnecessary.

I recently reviewed L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil, and I stand by the fact that it's an amazing product that I fully intend to have in my shower at all times, but it retails at RM100 which is quite excessive for shower time, even in my books. Surely there have to be cheaper options out there which nourish your skin without the horrible stuff that's in most of the products you get at the pharmacy.

I am well aware that everyone's first reaction to what's most moisturising at the pharmacy would be to point to Dove, but that is an absolute lie. Not only is their product inferior to Guardian's own in-house brand, in comparison, it smells like straight up soap, and it strips my skin horrendously. Better than milk? Absolutely not!

[Goat's Milk]

Under these circumstances, the "milk" in question, distinctly surpasses Dove in all aspects: Packaging, scent, texture, ingredients, nourishing qualities, and event price point.

When it comes to the scent, it's more Nivea than soap, and I really do appreciate that. I LOVE scents like this in my creams and shower products because they are extremely mellow, and don't smell unnaturally fragranced. In fact, it's far more soothing and comforting than using something that assaults your senses and jolts you awake.

As for how it applies, it lathers nicely, and feels lovely on the skin.

Since it's a product without all the nasties like parabens and whatnot, you do see a difference in how moisturised your skin is. I have extremely dry skin on my body, so this won't cut it to completely eradicate your need for a body lotion, but I did notice that my elbows were definitely less dry after a week of use.

Retailing at around RM16 for a 1 litre bottle, this is an absolute steal and I can't recommend it enough! Guardian always has it on sale, and I do think the packaging has been switched up. The next time you're lured by any of the other products which claim to be nourishing, pick this over Dove and Fruiser any day!

As a side note, I've been experimenting with Guardian's in-house range for a few months now, and I'm extremely impressed by everything I've tried. I've actually forgone the madness of buying expensive hand washes from places like Marks & Spencer, Crabtree & Evelyn, etc. in favour of Guardians because they work just as well, if not better, at a fraction of the cost (often RM10.80 for 3 bottles).

  1. Cheap and fantastic - sounds good to me! I've know that goat's milk is amazing, in general. I had a bar of goat's milk soap from the Vanity Trove and it was so gentle and emollient that it surprised me.

    1. It is isn't it? I'm stopping shot of drinking the stuff, but for topical use, it's been proving amazing!

  2. I've always avoided most in house brands from any Pharmacy/Retail Center but if you love it, it must be good. Am going to check out Guardian's range of scrubs and see if they work for me too :)

    1. Watsons' in-house brand has some hits and misses, but so far I've not been disappointed by anything I've used from Guardian. I just bought the body scrub too and I have high hopes! Will review it soon.
