If any of you follow me on Pinterest, you would be well aware at this point that I obsessively pin stuff to my boards. And then Luvocracy turned up and it was like Pinterest on steroids. Seriously, it's the best concept ever!

If you've never heard of Pinterest or Luvocracy, think scrapbooking. You cut out the stuff you like from magazines, and paste it into a scrapbook labelled according to the genre/theme. These are just virtual versions of scrapbooking.

The thing about Pinterest that was a bit distressing was the need to follow links through to external sites, which may or may not work, and you may or may not be able to purchase the products you start to realise are missing from your life.

Enter Luvocracy!

[What's Trending?]

Not only are all the links actually verified and proofed for safety, you can buy the products you want right off the site without being directed to an external page. I don't know about you, but this makes my addiction so much more accessible and lacking in effort that I can't help but feel like my dreams have come true! I know it sounds dramatic, but I am someone with strictly first world problems and the inability to have something I really, really like because I simply can't locate it after seeing it kills my soul a little.

So, how does it work?

When you sign up, you automatically get US$10 in credit on the house to run amok with. Then, it only gets better. You can search for the products you are interested in, and there will be a number of them which would pop up, and most people are kind enough to provide mini reviews of them in the description so that it will help you out a little in terms of whether you want it. You can then "Luv" the product if you choose to add it to a board of your choice. You can create different boards for the different categories of your interest and peg your Luved items to it. You can also "Trust" people who you think have good taste so that you are informed when they Luv or review new products.

The page that pops up when you open Luvocracy shows you what's trending (as shown above), and it's awesome to run through ti daily and check out what else you should be lusting after!

There's another tab you can pick out to check out what the people you Trust are up to, and it makes things that much more convenient.

[Trusted Posts]

And of course, when you head over to your own profile, it shows you your different boards. I currently have 10 separate boards, including one for products which I have my eye on called "Covet".

[Profile Page]

As I mentioned above, you can actually buy stuff off the site and it works in a very rewarding and innovative manner. If you Luv something, and someone else Luvs it off you, and someone subsequently down the line of that train of Luv purchases the product, you get a percentage of the sale in credits! It truly is a rewarding community!

And Luvocracy has been kind enough to give me US$15 in credit to giveaway to one lucky winner. That means that you will get your US$15 in prize credits, as well as the US$10 for signing up, giving you US$25 to run amok with on the site.

If you're overwhelmed by the absolutely staggering amount of stuff you can find on the site, I've created a board of 35 products I love called "Adore!" which gives you mini reviews of why the products I've Luved are awesome. Go and check it out! It's got all the stuff I haven't gotten round to reviewing here on my blog as yet!

  1. You wicked, loveable, enabling, Shimer, you!
I never did get quite into Pinterest but the possibility of not only window shopping but being able to get some real-time hands on a list of lovelies well, now you're talking!

This is the first I've heard of Luvocracy and it's so sweet of them to run an international giveaway through your blog but the logistics is really fiddly if they need us to have a US address.

[Yo Luvocracy! International shipping would be nice. Free International shipping would be even better. There's actually a trillion of us outside of the States (half of whom are Arpita's easily influenced friends] who love to shop. Just sayin'...]

    1. Pinterest is amazing because there are infinite recipes there! Luvocracy just enables the other side of my nucleus accumbens' needs!

I really think they need to start shipping overseas. It's getting extremely unreasonable that we (one of the largest markets on the planet) are suffering!
