Earlier this year, a new beauty subscription service popped up on our doorstep, but it was geared primarily towards accessories. I was initially a bit skeptical about this because some beauty subscriptions have really disappointed me in the past, and Beaubox was quite a spectacular failure from everything that I'd seen. But, when I was the February Fashion Culture Box, my soul died a little because I didn't have one and the stuff in there was gorgeous! I believe those boxes were sent out solely to bloggers for review purposes, and Fashion Culture was kind enough to send one over to me to check out.
The Travel Series came with 3 choice preferences which would dictate the contents of your box. You could either pick Beach Holiday, Parisian Affair or Safari Adventure.
[A Clean White Box]
[I already feel like I'm going to love it!]
So, which box turned up with the posman?
I was a little surprised at the sheer amount of stuff in the box, and it actually all went together in a very complementary manner. If you chose to wear a solid, muted colour, the stuff in this box would accentuate it wonderfully.
Before we take a closer look at the contents, check out the added bonuses that came in their magazine!
Yes, there's a magazine instead of the traditional sheet that has fashion tips and information about the contents.
While I was quite happy that the magazine wasn't just full of filler material, I got even more excited when vouchers slipped out of it! It's truly the box that just kept on giving!
[Vouchers and Informational Materials]
While I'm a bit indifferent to Zalora these days, the vouchers for Strip and Fashion Culture are extremely welcome, and they're incredibly generous as well! Happy times!
Once I sifted through the materials, the first thing that caught my eye was a scarf!
I'm not one who in overly fond of animal print, but the colour on this scarf made it far less tacky than if it were in traditional cheetah print shades. I'm surprised at how lovely it feels as well!
[How do you wear your scarves?]
Then there was some arm candy!
I love that these are so different that you can wear them separately, but they also go very well when layered together. Versatility is always a plus point!
Followed by earrings...
Aren't these just so pretty? I've been on a bit of a kick with dull gold feathers, so this made me all too happy!
And the necklace that matched flawlessly!
How pretty is that necklace? No, I will never be too old for such things!
They also threw in a few other items which aren't strictly accessories.
[Newtrogena's Hydra Boost Gel SPF 30+]
This was recently launched, and it looks awesome because it's a gel moisturiser with SPF in-built. I've been itching to try it, but the price tag is quite a put off for a pharmacy product that you aren't sure you will like. I'm so happy with this!
And then, there was the 1 item I was a little iffy about
[Animal Print Nails]
This just reminds me of Jerseylicious (for those of you unfamiliar with it, it's Jersey Shore's ugly cousin), and I don't see myself using anything like this except on Halloween, maybe. Even that's moot. I do appreciate that it's sticking with the theme, but it's just a bit much for me. If any of you out there would like this, do let me know!
So, what do you think of this box? I'm definitely a fan!
I loved that it was slightly eclectic and full of a majority of stuff I would actually use. I did catch a glimpse of the other boxes available and they were filled with gorgeous stuff as well.
Need I say it? I'll be getting myself a box in April as well!
Fashion Culture Box retails at RM58, and April's theme is Operation Occupation. Your choices for the month will be Working Girl, Campus Chic or Socialite. I'm rather tempted to order all the boxes, which is not helped by the fact that you can actually purchase all 3 for a lower price at RM160. If I had to pick one though, I'd probably go with either Working Girl or Socialite...I'm so torn!
