On Thursday, the 10th of October, SaSa held their fragrance awards and it was a lovely, intimate affair held in the afternoon at the Penthouse of The Icon, KL.

There were 5 categories which were being awarded: Best Women's Fragrance, Best Men's Fragrance, Best Couple's Fragrance, Most Popular Fragrance and Best New Fragrance.

Before we get into the event proper, SaSa held their fragrance fair between the 6th of July to 1st of September, and during that time frame, they sold 21,136 bottles of perfume. That is completely insane! In a bit to do their part for charity, they gave RM1 per bottle to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA).

And before we get to the nominees, I have to show you the set up because it was just so pretty!

[Newly Launched Female Scents]

[Newly Launched Male Scents]

[Both of these are now in my lust-list: Honey by Marc Jacobs and La Vie de Boheme by Anna Sui]

[Mingling Tables]

Of course, there was a fantastic spread of finger food for all:

And despite the horrifying weather, the event started reasonably on time which I was rather surprised and pleased with.

[Please excuse the questionable pictures as I was attempting not to block anyone while taking them]

[And it begins...]

The host for the afternoon was Elaine Daly who did a rather terrific job of the entire thing.

They've also just released new fragrances from Boss, Escada (which I'm absolutely in love with), Givenchy, Anna Sui (which has the most gorgeous bottle ever), Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs (which I need!), Burberry, Lancome, Tous, J. Del Pozo, Marina De Bourbon, Elizabeth Arden and Mariah Carey.

And of course, to give us a little sampler of what's just been launched, they sent us home with a bottle each of different fragrances.

[What's in the bag?]

[Press Kit]

The file is just so adorable that I'm going to be using it for documents and look distinctly un-lawyerly about my career!

I was really, REALLY hoping I would get Marc Jacobs' Honey, but I got Elizabeth Arden's 5th Avenue. It's not a bottle I would ever have picked up to smell, but I'm really quite enamoured with it. As the name suggests, it has a very sophisticated, grown up scent to it and I don't have anything quite like it in my collection. My first thought was that I would give it away because I may not like it, but I've been using it and I'm really liking it. It lingers and gives you an air of understated poise that's absolutely to die for. So happy!

[Elizabeth Arden's 5th Avenue]

This is my first encounter with Elizabeth Arden perfumes and I'm so impressed! Go and grab yourself a sniff of this because you will not be disappointed!

  1. The Elizabeth Arden perfumes are so sophisticated. Trust me, smelling like 5th Avenue is so much cooler than smelling of dessert.
    You did well!
By the way, you had me at munchies. The rest was a blur.

    1. Haha it was to me too! The event was far shorter than the eating time, so that's a great event right there!
I've never been enticed to pick up an Elizabeth Arden perfume, probably because they aren't as widely advertised. I'm starting to wonder what else I've missed out on in their line! Their makeup and skincare is certainly quite lovely.

    2. We really should meet an event one of these days and eat our way through it. I should have taken up food blogging.
How about EA Red Door? I've always loved that red door advert. But I know what you mean, I've always thought of Elizabeth Arden as a more mature brand. Remember it was that way with Christian Dior until they just became Dior?

    3. We definitely need to do just that! You could always incorporate food into your blog as well. I'm spacing my food entries out because they are threatening to derail the entire direction of my blog.
Yes, Red Door was rather intriguing but because I never thought of them as a particularly exciting, I never got caught up in it. I fear this is going to lead to another obsessive bout.
My love for palettes changed my perception on EA though because they had this amazing stacked mini palette out a few years ago and it was pure love at first sight. They are so underrated! And for the longest time I steered clear of Dior and Chanel for that very reason. People still think Chanel doesn't do amazing skincare. They are so wrong. I adore their stuff!

    4. My only issue with food blogging is that I never quite remember to take a photo of food until it's half gone which isn't very pretty. I can't help it, I like to tuck in el pronto.
Food bloggers must chronically eat cold food.
Yeah, I hear Chanel makes excellent base coverage too but it is hard to get out of the mindset that only powdered old ladies do this brand.

    5. I get constant complaints about not letting people eat until I've taken pictures and this always fails with my family, so sometimes there are half-eaten food pics in my collection too. I used to be extremely religious about this, but it has dwindled because I've noticed that taking pictures of food always makes me order more stuff!
You really need to go to a Chanel counter and ask them to put Perfection Lumiere on you. It's so amazing. Chanel is the reason I started falling in love with liquid foundation all those years ago. You are truly missing out! Plus, if nothing else, their eyelash curler gives Shu Uemura's a run for their money! And I'm angling to get their leave-in hydration mask. I need it.
