Yes, I got the Mivva box today and my excitement at receiving it was tempered by the unfortunate packaging.

It seems almost like Mivva has a somewhat bipolar effect on me from month to month. I renewed my subscription, so apparently I'm going to have to wait this one out. Oh the regrets!

First off, the theme wasn't something I was too keen on.

[Snow White]

I'm neither a fan of whitening products, nor a fan of evil stepmothers trying to murder their stepdaughters with apples. However, judging from previous boxes where the word "theme" has been used rather loosely, I wasn't too concerned about it.

[Product Description Sheet]

[Mivva Unveiling!]

First off, I won a prize in their Lisele competition, and the top on this had come loose, so some of it spilled over the rest of the contents. It's a good thing everything was made of plastic or it would have been horrifying.

[Liese's Juicy Shower Hair-Hydrating Mist]

This is definitely an interesting product. I've never used a hair mist before, and I'm curious as to how this works. This weather isn't helping with the condition of my hair, so this is perfect. It's formulated for wavy hair, so I'm rather excited. I'm still doing a bit of research on it though because I'm trying to avoid "holding" chemicals on my hair e.g. hair gel, hair spray, etc. This doesn't seem to be anything of the sort, and it even claims to smoothen and soften hair over time. We shall see. In any event, thank you Mivva, for the competition and the prize!

[Unico's Pearl Scar Cream]

While at first glance I was rather indifferent to this product, the description states that it can be used to lighten freckles, pigmentation, dark skin tone, dark spots, blemishes, post-acne scars, pimple marks and large open pores. Since my pores are the bane of my existence and I do have a few dark spots from my recent brush with pimples, this looks like it would be worth a shot. Interestingly, the cream itself is skintoned, which I suppose is pretty good if you plan to use it during the day as well. Another interesting product which I would never have thought to pick up on my own.

[ONL's Ecopure White Balance Skin Toner & Emulsion and ONL's Oceaniq 3D Antiwrinkle Total Solution CC]

These little containers are the bane of my existence! I don't think you could ever get an accurate reading of whether a product suits you with the use of such minimal amounts. It personally takes me 3 weeks to a month to get an idea of whether I love a product. In any event, these are there and they're presumably meant to hydrate and moisturise skin with nopal cactus and something called an "aqua-holder complex".

The Total Solution CC is a multipurpose products which is meant to be a toner, essence, lotion, primer and BB in one. Those are mighty claims. We shall see!

[Hydra 24 Cracked Heel Cream]

I don't have an issue with cracked heels (yet), but judging from my mother's feet, I should probably start taking more care of my own. This is something no one thinks to keep around, but when you need it you will be infinitely grateful to your past-self for hoarding it. For now, this will be more appreciated by the mother, so I shall hand it over.

[Secretleaf Argan Hydrating Cleanser]

Now this is something I'm really excited about! It contains argan oil and marine seaweed extract which is a combination that is brilliant. Why? Argan oil hydrates and moisturises without exacerbating oil production, while seaweed is meant to help control oil production and mattify the skin. As an added bonus, it contains aloe vera to soothe and nourish, and it's also good for controlling oil. I cannot wait to try this out! I have very high hopes!

[Beautymate's Bird's Nest & Lilium Candidum Firming Rejuvenating Nano Mask]

I do love masks and you simply can't go wrong with collagen and bird's nest so I'm a happy camper with this.

Overall, I'm a little unenthusiastic about this box, and add to that how annoyed I was by the spill, and I'm having buyer's regret about re-subscribing to Mivva. Other than the cleanser, nothing has wowed me, and that is a true disappointment. Let's just hope they up their game next month.

If you're interested in a Mivva subscription, they have monthly (RM38 + RM10 shipping), quarterly (RM114) and bi-annual subscriptions (RM228) available.

  1. That hair mist is H-U-G-E. For a moment there I thought it was something for the greenhouse. Seriously, it's bigger than most people's hair!
I'm not very inspired by this month's selection either - I think I'll hold out on Mivva for a while just yet. I will, however, save my money for a haul now that you are telling me they take our cards. I am SO excited that they do. How could I have missed that?!

    1. It is! I'm rather amazed it fit in the box! My thoughts were along the same lines. I would wash it out once it's done and spray Puffy with it when she's taking a bath!

Definitely don't commit to Mivva. I, apparently, never learn from past mistakes. Never again!

My sister-in-law's parents will be coming down next month so I'm hoping to extort some Sephora postage out of them. We shall see how it goes! Their Christmas sets are oh-so-tempting! Especially Tarte! I need!!! Do it! Do it! I can't wait to see what you haul!
