Yes, I do obsessively watch YouTube, and over the last few months Michael Todd's products have been popping up all over because they've been sending stuff to all and sundry review. As with most free stuff, people are inclined to review it leniently, so I've waited, and waited...and then reviews from normal humans who don't receive excessive quantities of free stuff started popping up. Apparently their products are actually quite incredible. So, I placed an order. Yes, they do deliver Worldwide for a very reasonable price, so I'm beyond pleased with that aspect! In fact, if you follow one of those million links which provide a discount and sign up, you get 20% off your orders for a whole year, and that 20% off usually covers the cos of shipping. So, you're all set!

The only drawback to living on this side of the world is that products take ages to arrive. This took upwards of 3 weeks to get to me, so you do need to account for that.

In any event, they were having an ongoing promotion at the time where you would get a couple of products free with a $30 purchase, so I decided to try out one of their tester kits.

My parcel!

When I opened it up, I was a little surprised that despite the obsessive amount of packing material, the products were sitting right on top of the box.

You know it happened. There was product all over the place. I received this a few weeks ago, so when  the same thing occurred with Mivva, it really pissed me off.

Anyway, here's what I got:

[Freebie - Purchase - Freebie]

[Michael Todd's Walnut Grapefruit Polishing Scrub]

This has gotten absolutely rave reviews, and I haven't tried it out as yet, so I'm quite excited to. This was actually from an order I placed the month before to test whether a bigger order would make it to Malaysia unscathed, but I've got a coupon code where I'll get a second one free with my next order because it didn't work when I placed this order, but technically it should have come together with this so I'm putting it in here anyway.

[The Actual Current Order]

[Michael Todd's Pumpkin Rich Facial Mask]

There's a little trial size of this in the package too, but since it's supposed to be really good, you can't have too many!

[Normal - Combination Skin Discovery Kit (US$36)]

This was terrible because most of the product had exploded all over. Thankfully it was encased in the plastic container...which is awesome by the way. it would be perfect for using to put your products in to go through security at the airport. And it's adorable with the colour scheme!

[Leaky-Leaky]

[Horror of Horrors]

Ignoring the state of it, let's take a look at what we have here:

[Michael Todd's Honey & Oat Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser]

This is meant to be extremely terrific for congested skin, which is the bane of my existence, so I'm really excited to try this out.

[Michael Todd's Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner]

This doesn't contain any alcohol and is meant to restore the pH balance of your skin. Definitely sounds promising.

[Michael Todd's Citrus Cream Moisturiser]

This contains all sorts of lovely citrus-y ingredients, as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate the face. Looks like good stuff, and it's supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles over time, so that's worth a shot if nothing else.

[Michael Todd's Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub]

I like that they've combined jojoba and charcoal in these because most coal-based products strip the skin a little too much. More importantly, this can be used 2-3 times a week. I like the 3 bit because I love exfoliating but I worry about over-exfoliating with some products. New exfoliator! Yay!

[Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask]

It states that this is meant for all skin types except sensitive...which is something I should have taken note of prior to using it. Yes, this is the one product I've tried out and a full review is upcoming. I don't have sensitive skin, but had I seen that caveat (again with the refusal to read packaging and instructions), I would have turned it over to check what ingredients could irritate sensitive skin - Glycolic Acid. Which means I shouldn't have used it after scrubbing my face! Which hurt like a bitch! However, the results were well worth it! Review to follow for sure!

Anyway, because so much of the product had spilled all over the packaging, I wrote to them, attaching detailed pictures of the mess, and they promptly sent me a brand new set of products. Because they were out of their mini jojoba charcoal scrub, they even sent me a full size of that.

100 points for customer service and the fact that it got to me within 2 weeks.

So far, I'm quite a fan of this brand and I foresee eye cream purchase in the near future because there are so many stellar reviews on how awesome their eye cream is.

  1. I've never heard of Michael Todd but if you say so and are willing to part with good money for it then I'm definitely giving Mr. Todd a look-in.
I do get this strange Halloween-esque vibe from his packaging - it's so orange/ purple/ lime. It doesn't look like how I would expect an organic brand to look at all.

    1. I found the packaging a little strange for their brand too, but I suppose they are trying to be a bit edgy. Completely incongruous though! Hilarious! But the quality is really good so I'm happy about that.

You do need to take a look! It's really quite tempting to buy everything in-store! Since I have duplicates, let me know if there's anything I've got that you'd like to try. I'll send some over.
