[Jouer's Matte Moisture Tint]
So, Wednesday night was the Metallica concert here in KL, and you can't go to a rock concert without makeup that will sustain through sweat, tears and bruises. This had amazing reviews for just such a situation, so it seemed like the perfect time to test it out.
I suppose going to the gym with make up on would be the height of testing it out, but I would never do such a thing. Not only is it horrifying for your skin, but it seems absolutely ridiculous on all levels. As far as I'm concerned, a moshpit is the only kind of gym I'm going to be testing make up out at.
[Time to glam up!]
The coverage on this is medium, but it can be built up a little. You don't require a lot of it and though it's a thin consistency, it does a wonderful job of evening out skin tone and sinking in quickly. Definitely dries to a matte finish.
[Tinted Moisturiser On!]
I usually don't forget to conceal, but I was distracted by the music blaring because I was all pumped up about the concert, so I powdered prior to putting on concealer, but I added it anyway. Good thing it didn't cake up immediately. I used Rimmel's Stay Matte just to intensify the effect. The concert was to be held at Stadium Negara which is outdoors, which equates sweat and possible rain at any given time. Couple that with between 10-20 thousand people and you've got yourself some make up melting problems right there.
Prior to putting the tinted moisturiser on, I toned my face and put on some eye cream. Using a moisturiser under a moisturiser doesn't seem logical, which makes no sense since I use one under BB Cream. Don't argue with my logic. This is my blog!
[Powdered and Concealed]
So my make up was all sorted by 5 pm and I didn't bother carrying any touch up essentials (including powder, lipstick, eyeliner, blotters) with me because this was not an appropriate occasion to recall the nature of such things. I basically left my face alone till the end of the night.
[5:00 pm: Ready to rock & roll!]
All in all, for 7 hours without so much as a glance or concerning myself with the state of my face (or hair apparently), I think the moisturiser held up amazingly well. The weather was absurdly hot and humid, and the concert was packed to the brim. By the end of the night, I was oily along my T-Zone, but not disco ball oily. Other than that, my blush was still in tact, my concealer hadn't caked or creased terribly and because I used an eye primer (The Balm's Put a Lid on It), my eye shadow was absolutely perfect. On a side note, it is by far the best primer in the world and in my opinion, far surpasses Urban Decay's Primer Potion.
What's really lovely about this product is that while it dries to a matte finish, it still hydrates your face quite well. It's also extremely light weight and has pretty good lasting powder. No regrets on this purchase. I love!
