[Parcel from the States!]
At present, my sister-in-law is in the States and I'm not even sure how many parcels of mine she has received by this point. She will only be back by the end of the month, however, so when I found out my brother's friend would be coming down from NY last week and he asked if I wanted anything, could I really say no? Of course, sending him an obscene amount of stuff would have been a bit much...my brother might physically abuse me, so I placed an order for 2 items from Sephora and 1 from Jouer. Yes, restraint! He combined the two packages in order to bring it down, which is why there's only one.
Let's start off with Sephora!
As I mentioned, I only ordered 2 items, but Sephora US is so much more awesome than Sephora in any other part of the world will ever be. If you order stuff online, any order above US$50 entitles you to free shipping within the US, 3 free samples of your choice from a selection which changes regularly and an additional promotional item which rotates regularly as well. They also have promotional items for their FB fans every Friday now, so you can pick that instead of the promotional items listed on the website. You get to pick one promo code per order which you enter at checkout.
Firstly, I ordered the one thing I've been lusting after for months now.
[Bare Minerals' Precision Face Brush ($22)]
This is available in Sephora here...well, it's supposed to be, but it's been out of stock pretty much since it was released. More importantly though, it's almost half the price in the States. If I'm not wrong, it's about RM109 here. While I do have infinite brushes, I really did need this because there is absolutely no better brush to apply Bare Minerals' Ready Foundation with. Honestly, the effect you get with this extremely dense brush cannot be rivalled by anything else. I haven't used my Ready Foundation at all after trying it out with a different brush because the effect isn't how it should be. When I tested out the foundation in store, the application was flawless because this was what was used to apply it. Trust me, if you have that foundation and you're using a different brush, you're doing it wrong which is why you don't love it. There is an upcoming review of it now that I have this brush and I'll show you the difference between using another brush and using this one.
[Lancome's Hypnose Doll Lashes - Alber Elbaz's Limited Edition Collection ($29)]
I did show the effect of this in a previous post when the Enabler purchased this in London. What I love about it is not just the effect, but that you don't need to curl your lashes before using it. It, too, is around RM30 cheaper in the States. I haven't seen it in Sephora here, but I did see it at the Lancome counter in Parkson if anyone wants it. It retails at RM90+. Is it worth getting? Yes, yes, yes.
Now, on to the samples!
[Dior's Hydra Life BB Creme in 02 Golden Peach]
Don't fret! This will be reviewed in depth during the course of the month. I've heard amazing things so I'm really excited about trying this out!
[Benefit's It's Potent! Eye Cream]
Sephora Singapore sent me this exact thing which I have tried out. It's not a bad eye cream, but definitely no the best idea. While it does so something for puffiness, dark circles are not even minimally affected by it. Dare I say it? Benefit is not my favourite brand. Their packaging is absolutely adorable, but their skincare in particular leaves a lot to be desired.
[Bumber & Bumble's Surf Shampoo & Conditioner]
After trying out the sample of a different shampoo and conditioner from them which I got in Boots in London, I am completely in love with their stuff. I can't wait to try this out!
As for the promotional product, they had a thing at the time that I placed my order whereby they were giving out a pink pouch with 9 different perfume and skincare samples!
[Sephora's Skincare & Perfume Promotional Pouch]
First of all, the pouch! OMG!
Look how pretty it is! It's got a little velcro patch on the inside to keep the contents secure. I love!
It's always nice to have little vials of perfume to throw in your bag with you, but I always end up going back to the same stuff so I'm not overly excited about these. I'm definitely not unhappy, they just don't light my fire the way The Doors, make up and skincare do! If anyone wants to try any of these, let me know!
[Korres' 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream]
I've yet to even read up on this, but it looks promising.
[fresh's Black Tea Age-Delay Cream]
Need I elaborate on my love for fresh anymore than I already have in this blog? They are amazing! And I love lychees, so what could be better? I'm actually using their sugar & lychee shower gel at the moment and I love it! Plus, who doesn't need "collagen-boosting" properties in their stuff? I had no idea lychee did such things, but it's as good an excuse as any to have more! Plus, it's lychee season! Yay!
[Clinique's Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer]
Clinique is a brand which has yet to fail me so this is definitely a product I want to try out. Yes, I do need radiance!
[Marc Jacobs' Honey Sampler]
I did lift the tab, and it did smell quite lovely. No, I didn't rub the little sticky film all over myself. I haven't hit that low as yet. Give it time.
Now, on to Jouer! It's not a brand I have found to be available here as yet, but their tinted moisturiser has absolutely fabulous reviews. How could I resist?
I threw the booklet away without looking at it because it would have resulted in me buying more stuff. I really need someone to sort my mail to prevent such occurrences. I get emails from Sephora US & Malaysia weekly which is such an unhealthy practice! STOP IT SEPHORAS!
[Jouer's Matte Moisture Tint in Chamomile ($38)]
It has SPF, vitamins and minerals! How could I say no? This is supposed to be better than Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer, so I needed it.
[Jouer's Matte Moisture Tint]
Well done eyes! The colour is perfect! It blended unbelievably quickly and easily into the skin and I was a bit shocked by it. It left a completely non-greasy finish and I REALLY cannot wait to try this on properly. A full review is upcoming!
Now, to await the return of my sister-in-law for the rest of my packages. What will I ever do with myself! Thumb twiddling time!
